At the top of the track

Some frenzied cleaning and tidying this morning in an attempt to make the spare room ready for our overnight guests, and to make space in the 'Music room' for us all to sit comfortably. (No, we didn't manage to get the living room in to a habitable state in time!)

Fran and Grahame arrived mid-afternoon and, after some refreshment, we all walked up through Humbleton village and over to the Common. Hot, humid and quite hazy. My favourite local walk - at the top of the track this view of the Cheviot (to the right) comes in to view. And then it's down hill all the way in to Wooler! Back via the local pub, where we had a meal and spent an enjoyable evening. Interesting to hear about how much Wakefield has changed since we moved north, almost 9 years ago.
