Sunny Sunday afternoon
A morning of photo editing - lots more still to do!
MrM drove across the Border this afternoon to play at a private function with the jazz band. After tackling a couple of domestic chores, the sunshine was too tempting, and I decided to walk up to the Common, in the hope of spotting a red squirrel or two. It was hot slogging up the hill on the way there - the sort of heat it's good to store as a memory, to bring to mind during the depths of winter when it's anything but hot - but there was a pleasant breeze on the Common. No squirrels or other wildlife for that matter, apart from a moorhen with two chicks that was far too far away for a decent shot. Rather dismayed by the lack of insects - spotted very few bees and, other than cabbage whites, only a couple of red admiral butterflies. Lots of meadow cranesbill flowers though.
Home in time to watch the end of the World Cup final with MrM - Vive la France. About to make a late dinner then, if I can raise the energy, a bit more photo editing before watering the plants, and bed...
