U.S.A Holiday - Day 2

Tuesday, Day 2, we were up early and bags packed ready for Janet and John to collect us at 06:30.
Car loaded we were on the road, first stop was Mesquite for a Denny’s Breakfast, straight past Las Vegas, (been there - done that), and on to Zion National Park.
To get there we had travelled through Nevada, Utah and into Arizona and it gradually got hotter and hotter until the car display peaked at 110* but it wasn’t uncomfortable. The park was really good, we only had a short stop but enough to walk to the river bank, look around the displays and take in the remarkable scenery, picking up a souvenir T shirt on the way out.
Lunch was at Mount Carmel Crossroads in the Thunderbird Ho-Made Pie Shop where Clare and I split Chilli Fries with Thunderberry Pie and ice cream for dessert.
Then it was on to Page in Arizona for our hotel and overnight stop, one last visit en route was to see the Powell Lake and dam, quite impressive.
Arriving in Page we checked in and hooked up to free WiFi but my attempts to Blip were thwarted when the towns power went out.
Not particularly good Mexican burrito’s rounded off the day before falling into bed ready for an early start tomorrow.
