Taking a Risk.....

We have had even more rain overnight. I made quick trip to the Taylor Dam to check out conditions there. There is a family of black swans on the rising river... seven cygnets with their parents. Here are four of the babies with their mother. The Taylor River upstream of the actual dam is in a moderate flood and is starting to back up to overflow into the lake. Then the water levels will rise and may impact on nesting birds. This family of swans will need to relocate from the river to the more secure lakeside.
