Happy new year!

2013 so far hasn't been too bad at all! A lovely day outside (albeit a bit cold once the sun started to go down), and we had a wee break to walk up to the Castle for a New Year's Day concert by Lauren MacColl, Siobhan Miller and Ewan MacPherson (who have been doing a Christmas tour called 'A Folky Little Christmas' throughout Scotland in December). What a lovely way to spend an hour, they were all really good although I must say I particularly thought that Siobhan Miller's voice was beautiful. The acoustics in the Chapel Royal were a bit of a challenge for the musicians (to be honest it all sounded fine to me!) but it certainly was a brilliant setting for a concert, and a good way to start the year.
