Diary of an Edinburgher

Hot hot hot!

What a hot one! 25° - too hot for Archie. And for me. A pal came over in the afternoon, mainly to see the new gas fire (with remote control), and have a gin. We then all went over to the Foodie Festival in George Square. The others walked across the Meadows, but I took the bus round the road. The Meadows were mobbed with picnickers, and Archie ran from one group to the next, hoping for some treats. No, actually, he generally moves on when called, but there's always the chance of some food lying around that he can gobble up.

We found a shady seat in George Square - loads of foodie vans all the way around the garden, with loads of seating and umbrellas in the centre. It's a great set up, though we just had an ice cream. Then a prosecco. But it's on for the whole of the Festival, so we'll no doubt be over again many times.

I walked back home with JR and Archie, and boy, I was puggled! Archie stayed on his lead on the way back - he wasn’t wanting to run around anyway. We stopped in the cafe for a coffee and a sit down. Then we had a seat out in shade in the back garden. Phew!

We have a new Prime Minister. Interesting times ahead...
