Diary of an Edinburgher

Birthday flowers

Rufus stayed with us last night as his mum was out till all hours at the Proclaimers concert at the castle. Pity it wasn’t a nice balmy night for it, unlike the night before and the night after, but I’m sure everyone enjoyed it.

The young neighbour saw that Rufus was with us, and came to visit. She never comes to visit barky Archie!

We had a fairly peaceful night (he used to cry all night long), his mum came to collect him today at 8am - I was still in bed, and the dogs were out with JR.

Lilly came today for her first walk out on her own with Archie. He gave her a good welcome, so she was delighted that he'd 'remembered' her. They went for a walk along the canal to Harrison Park and he fetched the ball once or twice. But she was full of praise for his good behaviour.

We popped to the vet to collect his three-monthly pills, and then he and JR sat out in the back garden. I lay on the couch, reading my new book.

Here are my birthday flowers, with the begonias(?) nice flowers dianthus in the window box and the rhododendrons hydrangeas out in the garden. Nice.
