Merlin and Sophie Marie...in Their Last 4-H Soiree

Within a weeks time, I've been to Ann Arbor twice. This time, it was to see my niece Sophie ride in a 4-H ( head, heart, hands, and health) riding competition. In her 3 trials, she took one first and 2 fourths. Merlin's problem? As Sophie said..."He won't canter! HE WON'T CANTER!"

Besides horses, there were chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, and llamas. 

My favorite part? Seeing the youngsters working with their animals. So cute.

It's always fun to see Sophie working with Merlin in the ring. Pretty girl...pretty horse.

P.S. I'm going to be off the grid for a few days. Merrick and I are going on a trip into Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The phone service is real sketchy up there, and...I'm not even taking my computer.
