Diary of an Edinburgher

Mad dogs and Englishmen...

Well, that was a hot one! 31° in the city, apparently. Not as hot as down south, thank goodness, but certainly too hot to venture out much, except to sit in the shade in the garden. And even better, to languish on the sofa. Even in the shade in the front garden, the hot breeze, direct from the Sahara, made it uncomfortable.

Michael took Archie out today, which saved us, but he wanted to go out at midday. Not the best time for man or beast. But they went to the Hermitage, where there is shade and a river. Trouble is, it's rather hot getting there. He did admit that he was the one who found it too hot.

A parcel arrived, and it contained an All Black coat for Archie! It was sent by our Kiwi pals who visited at Easter and had lovely weather - a great start to their three month adventure. He kindly modelled it for us He wasn’t keen to model it for us... (Extra)
