Midsummer Night's Dream
Today Cambridge was officially the hottest spot in the UK, the hottest temperature ever recorded in July, and only the second time it has been over 100 F. It got up to 38.1 C or 100.4 F.
We'd already planned to go to see A Midsummer Night's Dream with friends this evening, part of the annual Cambridge Shakespeare Festival, with performances in the gardens of the colleges.
It was still very hot as we walked in, set up our spot and started eating our picnic. Before the performance started, though, there was rumbling thunder, lightning, and then the heavens opened.
We all got very wet very quickly, but it did cool things off! The performance was great.
