The grass is still not growing

The hot weather is turning the front lawn quite brown but its time to give it a trim to stop it getting straggly  The tree is not helping,  as that tends to take up a lot of water. It was given to us as a 25th Wedding present back  in 1990 and the ticket on it said it would grow to a Max of 15ft.,  now its at least 30feet high and still growing
