Anniversary party

We had a 3 hour drive to a 50th anniversary of an old uni friend, near Glasgow. We must have met about 55 years ago, and though our paths have gone in very different directions we stay in touch and I’m very fond of her.

However we had never been in a house where everyone else was a Tory. It was good fun, as it never occurred to them that anybody could have different views! I played along with it which was maybe a bit naughty. They all thought the Scottish government was communist and the arguments against being in the EU were that we ruled the world before so why not now, and who wanted to be ruled by Germany. I wondered how they felt about their children/grandchildren getting free university fees. Home again, and relaxing, as we see the family tomorrow, and bring the boys back for a couple of nights.
