Mayhem
Maybe that’s not the best word, as Mrs May has gone and left us in a worse mess than ever, but it did get quite chaotic in Whitley Bay today. #2 daughter had invited her cousins and sister to her house for a get-together. Mr C’s brother-in-law came too. My elder great-niece couldn’t come as she’d just had her appendix out a few days ago.
The children in the blip are aged 4-12. For 3 hours the street was closed to traffic so they were all able to play on bikes, scooters etc, instead of just in the garden. Other kids came out to play too and various parents came to supervise. Mr C and brother-in- law were given that task. They spent it chatting and catching up, which is exactly what “the girls”, now all over 40, and I did too, but from the comfort of the sofas.
We have Thomas and James to stay till Tuesday night. They are in bed at last. James likes to play with stickle bricks in bed and asked grandad what he thought his creation was. He said it was “The God of the People”. Mr C took another look - yes, it was Angel of the North. Watch out Anthony Gormley!
