Emperor's Blue Clothes

We walked in the Norman's Pond area of Fishers Green. This is the first Emperor dragonfly that I have seen or photographed. It's the bulkiest dragon that we have in the UK and I was struck by its gorgeous blue colouring. I linked Ollie's lead round a tree as there are muntjac in the area and she sat sensibly while I tried to capture it in flight. I've had success in the past with other members of the hawker family. This was different, it's very active, hardly ever lands and never hovers like the others. I got one half decent in flight shot and can't wait to try my hand again.
