Amateur Archeology

The Flumlet requested a visit to the museum as he remembered this area from the last time.

In this shot he is uncovering a replica dinosaur skeleton which is buried under a layer of rubber chippings, so that the children can easily discover how real archeologists might feel on revealing an exciting find. The reality is, of course, that the chippings are pushed around all over the place and to uncover the bones it is necessary to first bury them oneself, having retrieved sufficient from other parts of the display. All good fun.

We took a different bus route home and called in at our local library to familiarise the Flumlet with the institution and how it works; we read a few stories but we didn't borrow any on this occasion.

On the way home he had a play on a nearby playpark, so, what with a few cartoons on the computer, we Grandparents had an easy day.
