Derry and the Bogside

Having visited the Falls Road and Shankhill Road in Belfast we decided to visit Derry and the Bogside today.

It’s very humbling visiting these scenes of places that were often in the news between the 70’s and 90’s.

Three of the shots are in mono. They provide additional starkness.

Extra 1 is the detail of the boy in the main Blip.

Extra 2 is the iconic image from Bloody Sunday.

Extra 3 shows the mural and the protest against current government policy.

Extra 4 was a shot taken through a commemorative monument to the “H Block” internment camp.
