Flood Alert!

Sat by the River Swale watching it rising !
We are spending a few days at MrC’s brothers static on the Holiday Park. by the river.
We were in two minds whether to come or not, but decided to risk it.
Hopefully the river has peaked!
We have been told we should be OK as long as York don’t close the flood gates.
So fingers crossed!
I feel very sorry for those who have been flooded higher up the Dale.

So far the weather has been warm and sunny.
Just one light rain shower just after we arrived.
Have spent the afternoon in Northallerton.
What a lovely old market town, and today happened to be Market day.
It is many years since we were last here.
A delightful place, with a very friendly, happy atmosphere.

Have just had a walk along the river.
Very interesting to compare the difference to our last visit.

Relaxing now with a glass of wine before I start to prepare our evening meal.

Hopefully we will not end up floating down the river tonight!
