American tourists, carrots and train conversation

Just back from Inverness after a more than decent breakfast at the ghastly hotel ambitiously named Scotland’s Spa Hotel . Spa opens 17 August amazed if it does. Anyway back on train tonight with delightful mother and daughter from Wisconsin. We were all puzzled by fields of something covered in what looked like plastic. Man with daughter doing somethings outdoorsy in Cairngorms thought it might be carrots, protection from the carrot fly. I said I was not so sure. Shorty wetsuit has arrived, think I will try it out in Greece.
