Literary musings, a lost otter called Portly

It has come to attention, as they say, that some of the chapters in The Wind in the Willows have intriguing titles. So for example ‘The piper at the gates of dawn’. This is a reference to a temporarily lost small otter called Portly who was found by Ratty and co on a small island in the safe keeping of Pan, in the early hours of the morning. I had also forgotten that the last chapter is appropriately called ‘The return of Ulysses’. The genesis of these musings is Luke Jennings again and were the last thought of the MI5 double agent who was being lured to his death. Seems a good way to go pondering on The Wind in the Willows. Now what will I recall if I am in sound mind on my death bed?
