River Otter
I dragged myself out for the same run as yesterday – it was hard work, but I did stop for a breather on the beach to enjoy the views.
Our first stop of the day was A la Ronde, a delightfully curious sixteen-sided house near Exmouth, which we loved exploring. Interestingly it was designed by two ladies in the 18th century, and was passed down the generations to single ladies in the family. Early girl power.
We enjoyed lunch in the garden, overlooking the Exe estuary, where there was a lovely cooling breeze. Our next stop was Budleigh Salterton. It was very hot, but we had a lovely walk along the cliffs. Our circular route took us back into the town. We then walked out along the beach in the opposite direction to the mouth of the River Otter. BB had an ice cream, but promptly dropped it. He wasn’t happy and neither was TT!
We picked up provisions for a barbeque on the way home, but by the time we got home, it was a bit late so we had pizzas instead.
Later there was more Line of Duty.
This is the River Otter as it meets the sea at Budleigh Salterton. The extra is taken in the central room of A la Ronde.
