Bridge to Nowhere.

It has been photographed a gazillion times far better than this. Today the light was not with me for a decent shot – I have seen it photographed in mists and in moonlight. Luck would have it, a family of swans sailed through. That's plenty I thought, blip in the bag.

(extra) Out to lunch with friends in Dunbar (to see her new house – we got the full shilling tour). Murdo and Mac had a grand time, wee spud is exhausted. After lunch in the garden we took him to Belhaven beach for a romp, a gorgeous beach if you have never been. The tide comes in really fast here. I was the last one to get off the beach and over the bridge with dry feet. Mrs FP and company were less fortunate, really it is so fast, one minute you think plenty of time, two minutes later you are looking at two feet of water. After ten minutes you are phoning the RNLI. Talking to a local the life boat is out on average three times a week rescuing people. The bridge deck is mesh which Murdo was far from happy with, so our host Hazel volunteered to carry the sopping wet dog across.

It has been several years since I have last been to Dunbar and I am happy to report that it is going through a bit of a resurgence. Well done them.

Been an altogether very agreeable day. Hope yours was too.
