... for fun, not from terror.

We had a small gathering to say thank you and goodbye to the landlord who offered his little terraced house to our community sponsorship group to use for our two refugee families' first home . By doing so, and by holding it rent-free until the families arrived, he saved us a lot of the expense and hassle that other sponsorship groups have faced.
Both families have moved on into larger houses in town, have settled well and made connections with the wider community. The father of the first family passed his driving theory test last week, his eldest child will be starting at secondary school next term. 

Today both families  cooked traditional Syrian food for the gathering, photographs were taken and some old friends dropped by to catch up on news (extra).
