To the lighthouse

I have struggled this evening to decide between this shot of the lighthouse at Strumble Head and the extra of Bailey and I taking in the view on the coastal path above Porthgain. My first few shots of the lighthouse did not do it justice with very little contrast between the colourless sky and the lighthouse. By the time we moved around to this viewpoint, the skies had coloured and it is this view that has won out (from the 200 total shots taken today) - and I do love a lighthouse.

Once we had taken in the lighthouse from all possible angles - and done a bit of seal watching - we headed back down the lanes to Porthgain. A wander and our picnic lunch down by the harbour, before Bailey, Dad and I headed up onto the coastal path towards Abereiddy. The blues skies, wildflowers, butterflies and different views around every corner made for a lovely afternoon. And we finished it off fittingly this evening with tea and a pint at The Bishops.
