Party Leftovers

It has been gently snowing all day. The squirrels made their appearance this morning enjoying New Years Day left over nuts. This little one found a hazel nut and I'm glad he found it this morning because as I write this,(this afternoon),a large brown hawk just flew by the front window. I saw him land in the tree next door but by the time I grabbed my camera and raced out door he was flying away ...at least empty handed or empty claws! My little friends will have to keep an eye out for Mr. Hawk!
