Deserted

The sun may have broke through on occasions, but with skies threatening rain and intermittent showers, it was small wonder the recreation area alongside Eling Quay was virtually deserted this afternoon.
True, I came across a couple of families entertaining the youngsters by crabbing from the quay, but on a summer afternoon you would normally expect this area to be packed with sun worshipers or simply relaxing in the calm by the water’s edge.
As it was, a walk along the quay when the tide is high made for a worthwhile hour to pass the time.
