#Iamamigrant
It was just as well, since it was hardly a day for photography, that I met "that professor" for lunch. Tanja Bueltmann does a lot of great campaigning around EU citizens' rights and Brexit, and also stands up to be counted as an immigrant. This is not a self-description that would have come easily to most EU citizens resident in the UK before the Brexit vote, but the whole discourse of immigration changed as a result of that vote. We chatted about those things, but also about our research, which overlaps quite considerably. It was a productive conversation, and one which it would be good to repeat.
Home partly on foot, as the weather was starting to ease, having rained in cascades for most of the morning.
Chapter 4 continues to be unravelled. It sometimes feels like one step forwards and two steps backwards.
