Two Go Mad....
....At Television Centre ;-)
S and I went to London today to see Loose Women at the ITV studios. We both love the program, and after S was diagnosed last November, we suggested it might be a nice thing to do after all of her treatment was finished. Earlier in the week I had a look at the website to see which guests were on, and it turned out Judge Rinder, who S really likes, was on today. I applied and go tickets (which were free) so we decided to give it a go.
I must admit I wanted to see Nadia Sawalha but you never know who'll be there until you turn the telly on, so you just have to take a gamble. Unfortunately she did the live show but we had tickets for the pre-record later on in the afternoon.
The weather was a bit of a downer, but we made it to the queue outside the studios in good time, and sat outside in the courtyard on a wall in the sunshine, albeit for an hour and a half... Just as they came to get us, the heavens opened and it poured!
I kept asking her if she was ok, if the journey wasn't too much for her, and she was just smiling and saying how lovely it was to feel well and to be able to do it at all. The whole day she just was so positive and it was like seeing the world through a child's eyes, taking it all in, even the tube journey and seeing the niceness in it all. Whereas all I could see that the weather was rubbish etc! I guess sometimes you need a life threatening illness to make you appreciate life.
It is SO lovely to see her looking so well, and I am just so pleased that she is making the most of it all and soaking up every moment. When we got into the studios, she wanted to sit near the front, and it was quite exciting to see how they do it. I must admit it felt very much like there was a glass wall between us and them, but it was cool just to see it in person and to have the experience.
After it had finished, we went back to Waterloo and puddle jumped all the way from the station to Southbank to get a drink. I literally walked into a huge puddle in my flip flops and my feet were soaked! So much for summer!
We had a drink and a snack in LPQ, and then took the train home. I was exhausted, but it was such a nice day and I'm really glad we did it.
