Bird di Ravenna
This is either a wood pigeon or a mallard, but I'm going to duck the question.
Excellent hotel breakfast, then a stop-off in Modena to look at fancy Ferrari cars. My top one was from 1954, though Mr B pointed out that was just the most Jaguar-looking car in the place - always my favourite car.
A wander in Modena for a brescaola and turkey-ham lunch (with an excellently bitter spritz), then off to an excellent gelateria for the best orange ice cream I've had since the 1970s.
On to Ravenna (via a sports store to buy yet another bikini for TallGirl) and to an extremely friendly airbnb (with an injured tortoise) near enough the centre to have a wander in for some mosaic spotting (including this bird, and Justinian, bane of every student of Roman law), then a delicious dinner, including my first (cautious) gluten since an unpleasant experience in Britain recently.
Home for cards, wine and fan-hogging (it is hot).
