Promise of a better day ?

I hoped that this shaft of sunlight was a promise of a better day.
After grocery shopping we decided to head south to Southend despite a heavy shower as we left town but by the time we got there we had passed through the shower and it was dry. We walked to the far end of the beach and back. Tide was well in. The waves were good today, with a lot of kelp in the sea and some on the beach. The Gannets were further out to sea.
The rain was however not far away and later in the afternoon, whilst I was painting, we had several very heavy showers.
