Early morning on the rice fields
We got up at 5.30 to visit Borobudur, (possibly) the largest Buddhist structure in the world. As we walked along the road we passed this man at work ploughing his field. The mountain behind him is Merapi, the volcano which erupted in 2010, causing a lot of destruction.
Our next destination is a village on the slopes of Merapi, where we are going to stay with local people for three nights.
Then we take a train to East Java.
Blipping will be interupted for a while, but I'll be back here as soon as I can. Thank you so much, all those of you following my journey. I really do appreciate all your comments, and am sorry not to be reciprocating at the moment.
