Meet Bima

I don't know why we call this a shadow puppet, as it isn't the shadow we watch. Bima is one of the most popular shadow puppets in Java, and we saw and heard his story presented by Sitras, with whom we are staying in Tutup Ngisor, which is within 10 miles of the crater of Mount Merapi, mercifully quiescent just now.?

We have the most wonderful hospitality from Sitras and his wife. In my experience it is the people who have least in the way of material wealth who are the most generous.
