2019 Friday — Little House Big View

Seven years ago today — August 16, 2012 — we made an offer on this little house. I really don’t think we realized at the time that the view was so enormous.

The view this afternoon has been jaw-dropping spectacular. This really has been the month of Fogust! So a day without fog is greatly appreciated.

Seven years ago we were scared and stepping out on faith that we had planned well, saved well, and could budget well. We had to do a little bit of negotiating with the seller. Our first bid was low; their counter was (I think) 20k higher. We negotiated some more; everyone did some compromising, and we settled on a price.

I asked for a 90 day escrow — for two reasons 1) school had just started; 2) we needed time to slaughter the piggy bank.

We are so glad now that we stood on our tippy-toes and reached; we absolutely love living (even part-time) on the coast.
