Lady with the Lamp

We were waiting in line to buy tickets to tour what is arguably the best known statue in the world. Then a quite lovely American mom came across and told us that we could catch the Staten Island Ferry, without having to queue. The ferry would go past the Statue twice, and best of all, it was FREE! She told us that the statue was amazing but as the climb was still closed post 9-11, just staring up at it from below didn't really do it justice.
