There is always one!

Produce a camera for a group photo and people either cringe away or lap up the attention.

I expected to have a quiet morning, preparing for the afternoon committee. Then a 'phone call came from Josie (front of photo) to ask if she, husband David, sister-in-law, Olwyn and brother-in-law, John, could come to see us today. John and Olwyn are returning to the deep south tomorrow.

David and Olwyn are the children of Mum's best friend Joan, who would have been 98 tomorrow. (Mum's birthday is in early September.) Josie and David called in recently and heard the news of the safe arrival of their first grandchild while they were here.

I decided to vary the position of group photos - there have been too many on our sofa with the curtains closed behind. 

I have put a more standard version as an extra.

The committee was hard work but we achieved a lot.

Then Margret returned from Germany. She had her evening meal here and we did a bit of catching up.
