Clangers.
Hectic day yesterday. I was variously a Super Space Hero, battling against Teddy Monster (Grandad!) in the park with full on grandchildren commandeering a “Spaceship” which was a climbing frame and slide, then repelling all boarders!!
My pink butterfly medallion on my small chain necklace had magic powers. If you pressed the butterfly you became invisible!
Other activities included making junk models, with Libby 6, and fantastic time machine (Sammy 7) who said it had Loonar Energy. Spelt like that because it had both Solar and Lunar mixes!
Toby (3yrs 5mths) named me a Kicker Monster when we were in the garden. He was on the trampoline kicking balls at the zipped opening and I had to “capture them”. This proved hilarious to him. I threw them back over the top after I snaffled them!
Their mum and their 4 month old sister took time out going to a Mother and Baby Club in the afternoon for an hour and a half.
Needless to say with all the bottled energy fizzing out of the other three till it was almost exhausted and their batteries were running down, meant myself and hubby needed recharging today!!
So why the picture?
All the grandkids know I love “Clangers” on Children’s TV. There is a character called Granny Clanger, (who knits, and generally sleeps!) I do not knit but have been known to “drop off” in the evenings, often in the middle of a TV programme or other.
So when we go to visit we have a quieter period before they go to bed and sometimes they will put on a Clangers episode for us all to watch.
I have to confess that when we get home and however exhausted we feel, I miss them. So I will watch a download episode like one I enjoyed this evening.
We’re all kids at heart- just not with the same energy, solar or otherwise!!
