0500 taxi for the early BA flight to LCY. The airport, unsurprisingly, was very busy but the flight to London was only half full. Complimentary food and drink has returned to this flight. Maybe BA are losing out to those who want a free hot breakfast on the train?

Excellent work meetings at Canary Wharf. Late lunch with our youngest who turns 30 this weekend.

A leisurely stroll from the South Bank to Kings Cross for the 1700 train home. I was surprised to find it was operated by the only (new) Azuma train to reach Edinburgh. It normally goes out at 0540 and returns at 1730. The train feels more cramped, even in first class, but it accelerates very quickly. The seat reservation computer had crashed so it was a free for all for seats but everyone was accommodated. All new systems these days seem to have lengthy “teething troubles”!
