House for an Art Lover, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow
My eldest niece, (of recent chocolate trifle fame), is a Bridesmaid at a Wedding here today. I agreed to pop over to see her going in. She looked stunning, as did the Bride. What a gorgeous venue for a wedding. Lovely light on the facade, I liked the shadows of the leafless trees.
Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1901, for a German competition, but not built until 1990. A "must see inside" if visiting Glasgow. More info here.
I wish the coloured sculptures in front of the house could be removed. They don't fit at all, and remind me of my Granny's blancmange moulds. I think they spoil the view. Just saying ....
