Day 2 Rovinj to Pula
We went out and wondered around the old town last night. It was buzzing with tourists and all the bars were open. We enjoyed a beer and shared a pizza as it was quite late but knew we needed some more food.
Our apartment is lovely and we have safe storage for the bikes. In the morning we went back to the old town and started with a coffee and croissant, view from my seat is my Blip, this set us up for a stroll around the old town. It was so picturesque with tiny lanes and narrow alleyways. We went up to the Church of St. Euphemia and then meandered back down to the harbour area where we found a cafe and had an early lunch.
Off on the bike for a 25 mile ride to Pula. The roads were ok and we kept off the really busy ones. We stopped in a few places to take pictures and in one to do some post airplane adjustments to our bikes.
Pula is quite different to Rovinj. There are Roman remains on every corner, of course there is the Amphitheater, extra, a very spectacular structure, and also the museum with all the olive oil vases. We then wondered round the old town visiting the Market Hall, Arch of Sergius, the impressive Roman Floor Mosaic and the Temple of Augustus.
A busy day but loving Croatia
