It is Friday

This is Gavin Barras, bass guitarist with the Steve Oakes quartet at Burgundy's in Kendal last night - the other two being Darren Lloyd on trumpet and Ted Richards on drums. Gavin and Lloyd were on theit first visit to Burgundy's and certainly made an impact.

Ed Kainyek is usually the tenor sax man with Steve Oakes but we heard last night that he is unwell in Manchester Royal Infirmary with a lung problem - seems totally unfair to inflict a great tenor sax man with this.

So our thoughts are with Ed and I shall send him a few sketches to let him know that his followers at Kendal are looking forward to seeing him back.
