St Petersburg Day 1

After an overnight boat from Helsinki, we arrived in St Petersburg at breakfast time. We had a bite to eat on the boat before we departed and joined the queues for passport control. It was a lengthy process but once through we had a quick bus ride and were soon in the city. Wow, what a beautiful place.

After lunch, we joined a city tour by minibus. We had plenty of photo stops and a great introduction to the history of many of the city’s sites and architecture. Blipped is the beautiful St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral (reflected in a handy puddle). In the extras a slice of the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, as the main spire is shrouded in scaffolding and tarpaulin this was pretty much the best piece to capture!

We’ve had great weather today, hopefully more of the same tomorrow.
