No need for a facial
Picked the roughest day for a Stonehaven sea safari rib boat trip down the coast. It was the roughest they've gone out in, they had to cut it short by an hour and kindly refunded more than half our tickets and cancelled the rest of the days bookings.
But they needn't have refunded it as it was a mad adrenalin blast for 50 minutes of sailing high and plunging low in massive waves that you would completely underestimate looking out from the sea wall and couldn't take photos of or you would have lost your phone and fallen off. We got completely soaked and our bahookies got bruised as we landed from each air borne flight, but totally worth it and after two bahookie bumps I learned to stand up on the rise to avoid the crash when we came down again.
Seeing Dunnotter castle from the sea and seeing where it would have originally extended to where the cliffs hadn't collapsed was fantastic. Seeing the end of one of Scotland's main fault lines was pretty cool too. But uncontrollably whooping and screaming with delight every time we went out from a sheltered photo op bit to the crazy waves and got airborne, plunged back down or got a face full of salty sea water was the best!
Mostly I couldn't see a thing as my glasses and protective goggle thingamibobs were salty sea dog water streaked but who cares when you're cruising fast on the big waves.
Only downside was Tess bailing out last minute at harbour due to anxiety, so sorry she wasn't able to experience it.
...I ached all over the next day.
