Water, water...

New Year's Eve was a very VERY wet day. We tried for the trains again, but didn't get that far. The road we had chosen was just too wet, too slippy and too wild for us to want to risk it. So we turned round and went home. My sister and her family had taken a different route and ploughed on successfully through the rain to the intended destination.

There was a brief let up in the downpour in mid-afternoon, so Mr G and I took our two up the road to Lake Vyrnwy, where we found this really quite spectacular dam. It was hard to choose just one picture, but, I think, this comes closest to capturing the scale and the noise of the water.

And so, 2012 came to a close. Fitting that it should end in rain, I suppose.
