Hard at Work

Gloriously sunny.

A lovely hour spent deadheading and watering this morning.   A coffee sitting out was a pleasure.   

This afternoon, we set off for a walk along the canal to see how far Alan could manage.   He did really well and we walked to Shepley Bridge Marina.   Over the bridge and to the Charity café there for an ice cream before returning along the main road.    The Kirklees Community Trust boats were doing a roaring trade - free trips and all manned by volunteers.   So kept going by donations from the public.

In extras the swans were following in single file on the River Calder, just the other side of the bridge and Cala Lilies given to me by my sister for my birthday yesterday.

Nearing home, my son and his wife passed us on their way to ours for showers (still ongoing at their house) so we enjoyed a cool drink with them before dinner.   Roast Beef and Yorkshires postponed for another day - too hot to put the oven on!   Not often we say that!
