Making Hay Whilst the Sun Shines
A bright sunny day but with a cooling wind.
Into Town this morning and walking from Aldi's car park we passed the Salvation Army with a sign outside for teas, coffees etc so decided to call in on the way back.
It looked newly refurbished inside and two lovely ladies were serving behind the counter. Alan went to order our coffees and one of them said to choose a cake! Well we both took chocolate cake and coffee. When Alan asked how much it was £1! The cake was lovely and home made and a decent cup of coffee so when we left I asked if we had been charged correctly and it was right. So we left more money as it was so underpriced! The toilets were spotless. We will go again as I think the Sally Army do a great job on the streets.
This afternoon Alan was waiting for the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final on TV so I went to collect blackberries for pie tomorrow - 900 gms in half an hour just by the bus stop, and I was back in time to watch it myself. He wanted Catalan Dragons to win - not because they were French but as it could make the game more popular.
Whilst there I saw the combined harvester in action in the fields and it has been busy all afternoon in the fields at the back of us - getting as much done today before the rain arrives tomorrow. It has been a lovely sunny day despite the cloud cover in the photo.
