Camera window
Back in the day . . .
Our print newspaper has been featuring a photo from their archives on page 2 - and this one really caught my eye today. The date is 1/29/59 (January 29, 1959). The caption reads:
"Aloha Airlines' camera window has an opening that allows a passenger to put their camera lens out in the air. Designed exclusively for the airline, the window permits colour photography without glare, grime or distortion from window glass. "
Has anyone ever used one? Nostalgia is strong - look at that window curtain, the layers of plumeria lei, the straw hat and suit for travel, and the camera. Back in the good old days when people dressed up to travel, those good old days . . . only 60 years ago!
Aloha Airlines shut down March 31, 2008.
