Adam's birthday

Today is Adam's birthday - 22 years ago I was in hospital having a C-section and then we welcomed our lovely baby boy into the world.

After he opened his presents this morning we went into the village for a celebratory breakfast, sitting outside the cafe so that Xena could join us. We had a delicious breakfast, smashed avo on GF toast with poached eggs for me -  it got very hot and by the time we left it was another scorching hot day. I then went to the supermarket, Thomas went to the barber, Luke and Meriel walked Xena in the woods, Gavin went to work and Adam went home to sleep as he is suffering badly with jet lag.

Luke and Meriel baked Adam a cake and decorated it beautifully with little gym things in icing - barbells, a swiss ball etc. See extra

It has been a busy day at home doing laundry, ironing and generally pottering about. This afternoon I took Adam to the garden centre as I wanted to get him some plants in pots for his home in Cambridge. 

I think today is the last of the very hot weather, it will be a more comfortable temperature from tomorrow onwards, which will be a relief. Funny how we complain when it is not good weather and when it is very hot we cannot wait for the cooler weather again!
