Heavy skies
I have noticed that during the in between seasons I am drawn to mono images, I suppose with rain and the build up of clouds, colour seems a distraction. It started off dry and I had a great walk with Xena, she enjoyed leaping about chasing squirrels - leaping being the right word as this breed of dog are like deer, they do that pronking motion leaping over everything from a running position.
Later in the morning we went to the vet for her annual booster inoculations. In these Covid times we have to drive and park, stay in the car and phone to say we have arrived and then the vet nurse comes to get Xena from the car. The vet did come out afterwards to talk to me as I wanted to discuss getting her spayed and I wanted his opinion on the full spaying or the laparoscopic method. The latter technique is quite specialised and uses expensive equipment so not all vets offer this service, and he doesn't (not yet anyway) but he happily refers those patients who want this method to a colleague at another practice . I must decide which method I prefer so am still doing my research.
Coming home from the vet I passed this field which has been recently harvested, and the hedges have also been recently trimmed and cut down so I could lean over and photograph the scene.
Today is Adam's birthday. Twenty three years ago I was in hospital and at this exact time had just come out of theatre after a C-section and thought I was going to die as the pain was so bad as the doctor had not given me enough pain relief! Adam is coming home on the weekend and we will be celebrating our double birthdays on Saturday (which is when it is my birthday)
I see the latest season of The Crown will be aired on 15 November, yay!
