Not You Grandma!!!
While I'm up here it's in my job description to make sure the girls are fed and dressed in the morning and get Amelia to school on time and Lucy to nursery Thursday and Friday.
Lucy has been brilliant all week but this morning Grandma was out of favour. She wouldn't let me get her washed and dressed or tell me what she wanted for breakfast. I could sense a tantrum coming on.
This is when Amelia stepped in. She helped Lucy choose some clothes, took off her pull-up and washed her bottom then helped her get dressed. She made jammy toast for both of them. When it was time to go, Lucy wanted to be in the buggy and Amelia to push her. I didn't let Lucy think it bothered me as I think it's a control thing and she's after a reaction so I just left them to it. On the way back from taking Amelia to school she decided to walk and chattered to me all the way home.
In the kitchen I'm preparing Lucy's mid morning snack of some mixed fruit and a mini Soreen, "Grandma, I really love you", she says.
