Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie meets lots of friends

Took Archie to the vet for his kennel cough medicine (up his nose, so not very nice). Then I took him up the hill so that he could forget about the visit.

We met lots of dogs. First were two 'Pomskies' - a mixture of a Pomeranian and a Husky (how would that work?). They were gorgeous. Looked like huskies, but smaller.

At the top of the hill (I took my time, but made it) there were some nursery kids stoically having picnic in the wind. It wasn’t a cold wind, but not pleasant all the same. They should have moved a bit over the brow of the hill.

Then a wee Yorkshire Terrier took a liking for Archie. She was with a group of dogs, but kept coming over to play with him. Surprisingly enough, he did. They ran around for ages, she chasing him. After the owners had walked away, she came back again, and even came back for a third time as we walked down the hill. I love it when he runs around and plays chasing. (Extra)

All the bags of rejected clothes have gone to the local charity shops, and I'm loving all this extra space in drawers and cupboards. And I’ve found lots of things I’ve forgotten about, but I’d wear, now that I’ve found them again. Who needs shops?

This evening we popped to visit a dog sitter. We used to use them before we knew Rufus and his mum, but feel we should establish another reliable sitter - can’t keep asking Christine. She's reluctant to go on holiday (Rufus is getting old) and so we can’t reciprocate.

There was a big daft friendly Labrador in the house, so we just wanted to see how Archie coped. And he coped well, with Milo bouncing around him, wanting to play. I've just spent half an hour picking dog hairs off my jumper! It's SO good that Archie doesn’t moult. The young lady works from home and takes her own dog out several times during the day, so we were happy with the set up. We'll try him out for a night soon.
