Audition Day

Katie had an audition in Whitehall today. We could see the palace, horse guards, the park etc from the venue! It was a long day, there and back in the day, but she was stunning. It was an audition to join the 2019-20 performance team for Awards for Young Musicians, who have already given her a place in their programme for the year. It was a weird audition- in someone’s home, no warm up, no waiting room for mummy and no promised accompanist. But she was so fabulous, she didn’t let any of it phase her and she played beautifully. She had an interview and she was so articulate, confident and knowledgeable without being at all cocky or arrogant. She changed the minds of a panel who prior to hearing her had convinced themselves there was no way she could be good enough....!
